On June 7th, Pat Sajak will bid farewell to "Wheel of Fortune," where he has been the beloved host for 43 years. In a heartfelt tribute, Pat Sajak expressed his gratitude for having worked closely with his daughter Maggie on the show.
As Pat Sajak prepares to bid farewell to his longstanding role as host of "Wheel of Fortune," he shared a heartwarming moment with his daughter Maggie Sajak, who has been a constant presence on the show since 2021.
Maggie, 29, serves as the social correspondent for "Wheel of Fortune" and "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune," creating exclusive content for fans and providing behind-the-scenes glimpses. In an interview with her father, she playfully asked how he felt about working with his "favorite daughter," to which Sajak responded with a laugh.
Sajak expressed his appreciation for the unique opportunity to spend ample time with his family due to his "nontraditional job" schedule. "I've had 40 years of a part-time job — pretending it was full-time," he said. "I could watch you guys grow up and go to the games and all that kind of stuff that work might have taken me away from."
Maggie's first television appearance on "Wheel of Fortune" occurred in 1996, when she joined her father on stage as a one-year-old. Her involvement with the show continued as she filled in for Vanna White as the letter-turner in 2020 while White hosted the show in Sajak's absence due to surgery.
In 2023, Maggie once again stepped in as the letter-turner for "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune" during an episode where White participated as a contestant. Sajak remarked that having Maggie as a full-time staff member on the show has allowed them to spend even more time together.
Sajak's final episode of "Wheel of Fortune" will air on Friday, June 7th, after more than four decades of hosting the popular game show. Sajak announced his retirement from the show in June 2023, stating that it was time for him to move on after 41 seasons.
Ryan Seacrest has been chosen to succeed Sajak as the host of "Wheel of Fortune" in Season 42. As Sajak prepares to leave the show, he expressed his deep appreciation for the experiences he has shared with Maggie and his gratitude for her presence in his life. Their bond and the memories they have created on "Wheel of Fortune" will undoubtedly remain a cherished part of their family history.
