Patrick Mahomes the Matchmaker in Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's Romance

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has revealed that he played a pivotal role in the budding romance between his teammate Travis Kelce and pop superstar Taylor Swift.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has taken credit for being the matchmaker behind the unlikely romance between his teammate Travis Kelce and singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.

Kelce first made headlines for his interest in Swift last summer when he crafted a bracelet for her while attending one of her Eras Tour shows. The gesture caught Swift's attention, and the two reportedly started dating shortly after.

Mahomes revealed his matchmaking role on Thursday's episode of "The Pat McAfee Show." He explained that he invited Kelce to his first Taylor Swift concert and encouraged him to make a move.

"I was sitting in my suite, so I feel like I was the matchmaker," Mahomes said. "I had some input in there as well. I was like, ‘Dude, just go for it, just go for it.’ And you know Travis, man, he does it. He’s a great dude, and I’m glad it’s all worked out for the best."

Kelce had initially been disappointed when Swift didn't interact with fans before or after her concerts. However, his public confession on his podcast with his brother, NFL legend Jason Kelce, caught Swift's attention.

"This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell," Swift told Time magazine. "We started hanging out right after that."

The couple kept their relationship under wraps for a while before making their public debut at a Chiefs game in September. Swift has since attended numerous Chiefs games, including the Super Bowl victory in Las Vegas.

Kelce, in return, has attended plenty of Swift's Eras Tour shows around the globe. The couple has enjoyed a whirlwind romance filled with concerts and football games.

"It's been an amazing experience," Kelce said of Swift's support. "She's an incredible person, and I'm so grateful to have her in my life."

Mahomes' matchmaking skills have not only led to a blossoming romance but have also strengthened the bond between the Chiefs quarterback and his teammate.

"I love Travis and I love Taylor, and I'm just happy I could play a small part in their happiness," Mahomes said.
