Paula Abdul has canceled her upcoming Canadian tour due to injuries, leaving fans disappointed. The former "American Idol" judge expressed her apologies and stated that she has received injections for temporary relief, but the demands of touring would hinder her recovery.
Former "American Idol" judge and acclaimed dancer Paula Abdul has announced the unfortunate cancellation of her upcoming Canadian tour due to sustained injuries. The tour, aptly titled "Straight Up! To Canada," had scheduled stops in various cities across the country.
In a heartfelt statement shared on social media, Abdul expressed her deep regret and apologized to her eager fans. She emphasized that her injuries have left her with limited mobility, requiring a minor procedure followed by a 6-8 week recovery period. This recovery time would conflict with the strenuous demands of a full-fledged tour.

"It's with an incredibly heavy heart that I need to share with you an update regarding some injuries I've recently sustained," Abdul wrote. "In an effort to keep going, I've received targeted injections that will allow me temporary relief, but the demands of an entire tour is a different story."
Abdul elaborated on her difficult decision: "After multiple consultations with my doctors and exploring all available options, I've been advised that one of my injuries requires a minor procedure followed by a 6-8 week recovery time, therefore it will prohibit me from proceeding with the Straight Up! To Canada Tour as well as the dates in Alaska and North Dakota."

The "Straight Up!" tour was set to kick off on September 21st, bringing Abdul's electrifying performances to Canadian cities such as Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver. Fans who had already purchased tickets will receive full refunds, as Abdul assured them in her statement.
"I want to extend my deepest apologies to all my amazing fans in Canada and the US, you mean the world to me and this truly breaks my heart," she expressed. "I've been looking forward to the energy, love, and connection we always share when we're together. I promise I'll be back, stronger and better, dancing my heart out and performing for all of you very soon, to give you the show you deserve."

A representative for Abdul did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. The 62-year-old performer has been actively touring with New Kids on the Block as one of two special guests on their "Magic Summer Tour." She was also scheduled to open for Boyz II Men at the Hollywood Bowl next weekend.
Despite her physical setbacks, Abdul has remained steadfast in her pursuit of justice and accountability. In December, she filed a lawsuit against "American Idol" executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, alleging that he sexually assaulted her twice during her time as a judge on the popular talent show. Lythgoe has vehemently denied the allegations.
