Bangor, Maine – The annual peanut butter and jelly drive is back at Bangor Savings Bank branches throughout Maine. The drive supports local food banks and pantries, which are experiencing increased demand due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
"We are so grateful for the community's support of our annual PB&J drive," said Bangor Savings Bank President and CEO David A. Ciullo. "Peanut butter and jelly are pantry staples for many families, and this drive helps ensure that our local food banks have enough to meet the growing need."

The drive runs from September 12 to October 14. Customers and community members can donate jars of peanut butter and jelly at any Bangor Savings Bank branch.
"Peanut butter and jelly are nutritious and filling foods that are easy to store and transport," said Patricia Blanchette, Executive Director of the Good Shepherd Food Bank. "We are so grateful to Bangor Savings Bank for organizing this drive, which will help us provide food to those in need."
Last year, the drive collected over 16,000 jars of peanut butter and jelly. The donations were distributed to food banks and pantries throughout Maine.
"We encourage everyone to participate in this drive," said Ciullo. "Every jar of peanut butter and jelly donated makes a difference."
In addition to the peanut butter and jelly drive, Bangor Savings Bank also supports local food banks and pantries through financial donations and volunteerism. The bank's employees regularly volunteer their time at local food pantries and soup kitchens.
