Republican voters at a Trump rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, expressed mixed feelings about Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly considering Governor Josh Shapiro as her running mate.
Harrisburg, Pa. – Republican voters at a Trump rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, shared their opinions on Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro as Kamala Harris' potential running mate. The Democratic governor is considered a top contender for the vice presidential spot on the 2024 ticket.
"I have mixed feelings," said Mark. "The one good thing would be that when they lose, we lose both Josh Shapiro and Kamala Harris."

Wayne argued that whoever Harris picks as her running mate will not change her past record. "She can pick whomever she wants," Wayne said. "I think that when and if the media shows Harris' record, people are going to realize that she's a little better than a communist."
"It's about her and not about America," he added. "Look what she did to San Francisco and California."

Shapiro, 51, was elected to a four-year term as the 48th governor of Pennsylvania in 2022. Before that, he served as Pennsylvania's attorney general from 2017 to 2023.
Harris is reportedly considering several other potential running mates, including Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

A Fox News poll conducted after Biden announced his withdrawal from the race showed Harris edging closer to Trump. The poll found Harris trailing Trump by just 4 points, down from 10 points in a poll conducted before Biden's withdrawal.
Shapiro is widely considered to be on Harris' shortlist for potential vice presidential picks. The governor has built a strong reputation in Pennsylvania for condemning antisemitism, supporting law enforcement, and defending abortion rights.
However, some Republicans believe that Shapiro's selection would hurt Harris' chances of winning the election. They argue that Shapiro is too liberal for Pennsylvania voters and that his record as attorney general would be a liability for the Democratic ticket.
Only time will tell whether Harris will choose Shapiro as her running mate. But if she does, it will certainly be a closely watched race in Pennsylvania, a key swing state that could determine the outcome of the election.
