Philadelphia Police Seek Assistance Identifying Young Armed Carjackers

The Philadelphia Police Department is requesting the public's help in identifying two young armed carjackers, including one believed to be as young as 10 years old.

The Philadelphia Police Department is seeking assistance from the community in identifying two young armed carjackers, one of whom may be as young as 10 years old. The suspects are accused of committing four carjackings at gunpoint in North Philadelphia between August 16th and 22nd.

The first incident occurred on August 16th at approximately 10 p.m., when the suspects approached a victim sitting outside his vehicle on Girard Avenue. The suspects, armed with handguns, allegedly took the victim's vehicle by force.

On August 18th, at approximately 2 a.m., the suspects approached a second victim seated in his vehicle on W. Cumberland Street. Police allege that the suspects again used handguns to seize the victim's vehicle. Surveillance footage captured the suspects walking toward Cumberland Street after the incident.

The third carjacking took place on Aug. 21st at approximately 4:45 a.m. on W. Ontario Street. The suspects approached the victim's parked vehicle, knocked on the window with a handgun, and stole the vehicle.

Police further allege that the suspects were involved in an auto accident on Allegheny Avenue with the vehicle taken during the second incident before robbing the third victim of his car.

The fourth incident occurred on August 22nd at approximately 6 a.m. when a 74-year-old woman was approached by the suspects as she walked to her vehicle. The suspects allegedly pushed the woman to the ground, stole her keys and wallet, and one suspect was reportedly armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

The first suspect is described as a 17-year-old boy, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall. The second suspect is described as a Black male between the ages of 10 and 12, approximately 4 feet 8 inches tall, with puffy hair.

The Philadelphia Police Department urges the public to refrain from approaching the suspects if they are spotted and to immediately call 911. Investigators are requesting anyone with information about the suspects to contact the department at 215-686-TIPS or 215-686-3047.
