Phillies Make Roster Moves, Select David Dahl

The Philadelphia Phillies have announced a series of roster moves today, selecting outfielder David Dahl from Triple-A Lehigh Valley and placing outfielder Brandon Marsh and infielder Kody Clemens on the 10-day injured list.

Dahl, 28, was acquired by the Phillies from the Milwaukee Brewers in a trade for catcher Pedro Severino in July. He has been hitting.286 with 11 home runs and 45 RBIs in 109 games for Lehigh Valley this season.

Marsh, 25, has been dealing with a left knee injury that he suffered in a game against the New York Mets on August 11. He is hitting .293 with 9 home runs and 46 RBIs in 99 games for the Phillies this season.

Clemens, 27, has been dealing with a right hamstring strain that he suffered in a game against the Chicago Cubs on August 17. He is hitting .238 with 5 home runs and 22 RBIs in 80 games for the Phillies this season.

The Phillies are currently in second place in the National League East, 5.5 games behind the Atlanta Braves. They will face the Miami Marlins in a three-game series at Citizens Bank Park beginning on Friday.

In addition to the roster moves announced today, the Phillies also reinstated catcher Garrett Stubbs from the 10-day injured list. Stubbs, 28, has been out since July 19 with a left groin strain. He is hitting .241 with 6 home runs and 24 RBIs in 59 games for the Phillies this season.

The Phillies also optioned infielder Yairo Munoz to Lehigh Valley. Munoz, 28, has been hitting .255 with 6 home runs and 24 RBIs in 91 games for the Phillies this season.

The Phillies are hoping that the addition of Dahl will provide a boost to their offense. Dahl is a former All-Star who has hit at least 20 home runs in three of the past four seasons.

The Phillies are also hoping that Marsh and Clemens will be able to return from their injuries soon. Marsh is a key part of the Phillies' outfield, and Clemens is a valuable utility player who can play both infield and outfield.
