Gregory Brian McGall, a Florida man known for his erratic behavior, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after accepting a plea deal related to a stolen emergency vehicle joyride that left a wake of destruction.
On March 22, 2023, McGall, then 26 years old, found himself at the scene of a crash involving his stolen pickup truck. While emergency responders attended to the incident, McGall seized the opportunity to jump into an American Medical Response (AMR) Chevy Tahoe and speed away.

Authorities witnessed McGall's reckless driving through dash camera footage, capturing his high-speed chase with officers from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO). During his pursuit, McGall displayed a disregard for property, breaking a laptop by folding it backward and tossing it out the window.
The joyride came to an abrupt end when McGall crashed the stolen vehicle into a grassy fenced field. He then fled the scene on foot, leaving the AMR Tahoe behind. A search ensued, with authorities eventually locating McGall days later.

On March 26, HCSO deputies spotted McGall in a silver Nissan Altima driven by Jerry Skidmore, 42, who had active warrants. Police pursued the car to a gas station, where they attempted to arrest McGall and Skidmore. The pair resisted, but were quickly apprehended.
Sheriff Chad Chronister commended his deputies for their successful apprehension of both men, expressing appreciation for their "dedication and coordination."

McGall was initially charged with criminal mischief, aggravated assault, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and carjacking. Skidmore faced charges of fleeing and attempting to elude, aggravated assault on law enforcement with a deadly weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On August 22, McGall accepted a plea deal in Hillsborough County Court. Had he not, prosecutors indicated that he could have faced life in prison for his crimes. By agreeing to the deal, he accepted the 25-year sentence, ensuring his incarceration for the next quarter century.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of reckless and criminal behavior, highlighting the lengths to which law enforcement will go to maintain public safety and hold offenders accountable for their actions.
