Reese Witherspoon's co-star hilariously forgot her real name, while Jelly Roll's criminal record has hindered his international performance opportunities.
Reese Witherspoon's real name, Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon, apparently isn't common knowledge among her co-stars. In a recent interview, actress Zoë Kravitz, who stars alongside Witherspoon in the upcoming film "Big Little Lies: The Second Husband," admitted to forgetting Witherspoon's real name.
"I forgot her name was Laura," Kravitz said. "I was like, 'Oh, that's right!'"
Witherspoon herself seemed amused by the revelation. "It is weird," she said. "I've been Reese for so long that I forget that my real name is Laura."
Witherspoon's real name was given to her by her parents, John Witherspoon and Betty Reese. The name "Laura" is of Latin origin and means "laurel tree." The name "Reese" is a Welsh surname that means "ardent" or "enthusiastic."
Despite her co-star's momentary lapse of memory, Witherspoon said she has no plans to change her name professionally. "I'm Reese Witherspoon," she said. "That's who I am."
Rapper Jelly Roll has revealed that his past felonies are preventing him from booking gigs overseas. In an interview with "Billboard," Jelly Roll said that he has been unable to obtain a passport due to his criminal record.
"I've got a couple of felonies on my record," Jelly Roll said. "I've been working on getting them expunged, but it's a slow process."
Jelly Roll's felonies stem from a 2007 robbery conviction and a 2010 drug possession conviction. He served time in prison for both offenses.
Despite his criminal past, Jelly Roll has become one of the most popular rappers in the country. His debut album, "A Beautiful Disaster," was released in 2020 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
Jelly Roll said that he is hopeful that he will be able to obtain a passport in the future and start performing overseas. "I've got fans all over the world," he said. "I just want to be able to go out there and meet them."
