The following year, Burroughs returned to Williamsport and once again guided his West Covina squad to the World Series title. He repeated his heroics from the previous year, belting a two-run home run in the championship game against Tokyo, Japan.
Burroughs' accomplishments in Little League were remarkable, etching his name among the game's greatest young players. His two World Series titles and his exceptional hitting display earned him the respect and admiration of baseball enthusiasts worldwide.
Beyond his Little League success, Burroughs went on to have a successful high school and college baseball career. He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in 1995 and played six seasons in the Major Leagues with the Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, and Tampa Bay Rays.
