Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) made scathing remarks during a House hearing on Monday, alleging that Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle's testimony was "full of s---" and "dishonest." Cheatle faced intense grilling from lawmakers over the Secret Service's failure to prevent the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) on Monday fiercely challenged Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle's response to the July 13 assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, accusing her of lying and being "full of s---."
During a House Oversight Committee hearing, Mace confronted Cheatle on a series of questions, demanding "yes" or "no" answers. Cheatle responded that the assassination attempt was a "colossal failure" and a tragedy that could have been prevented.

However, Mace questioned the validity of Cheatle's claims, stating that she had received Cheatle's opening statement for the hearing several hours before the committee did. Mace asked, "Would you say leaking your opening statement to Punchbowl News, Politico's Playbook, and Washington Post several hours before you sent it to this committee as being political? Yes or no?"
Cheatle responded, "I have no idea how my statement got out."

Mace retorted, "Well that's bulls---."
Mace's accusations did not end there. She inquired whether Cheatle had provided all audio and video recordings in her possession to the committee, to which Cheatle responded, "I would have to get back to you."

"That is a no. You're full of s-- today. You're just being completely dishonest," Mace told Cheatle.
Cheatle was also unable to answer how many times Trump's team had made extra security requests. Cheatle stated, "For the event in Butler, there were no requests that were denied." However, she failed to provide a clear response when asked how many times Trump's team had been told no.

Cheatle did admit to calling Trump after the shooting to apologize. She also attempted to explain that the Secret Service was unaware of a suspicious threat during the rally, despite reports of a man on a roof minutes before Trump was shot.
Trump, however, expressed dissatisfaction, stating in an interview that "somebody should have made sure there was nobody on that roof."
