Nicole Shanahan, the running mate of independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has blasted Democrats for obstructing their ballot access and suggested that the ticket may join forces with former President Trump to prevent Vice President Kamala Harris from winning.
Nicole Shanahan, the running mate of independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has unleashed a scathing attack on Democrats, accusing them of preventing the Kennedy-Shanahan ticket from gaining fair ballot access. In an interview with Fox News @ Night, Shanahan expressed her frustration with the Democratic Party's actions and hinted at the possibility of joining forces with former President Trump to stop Vice President Kamala Harris from winning the 2024 election.
"They've done everything they can, including creating PACs to prevent us from being able to have ballot access," Shanahan told Trace Gallagher. She elaborated on her criticism, stating that Democrats have obstructed the ticket's efforts to get on the ballot in various states.

Shanahan's comments come on the heels of news-making remarks she made on the "Impact Theory" podcast, where she suggested that Kennedy could "join forces with Donald Trump" to prevent Harris from winning. When asked to elaborate on her comment, Shanahan reiterated that the ticket is open to working with anyone who is sincere about addressing the issues they care about, including Trump.
"We have the worst chronic health problem in the world right now. Over 50 percent of children are diagnosed with some kind of chronic disease. This is unconscionable, and we are willing to work with anyone who is sincere in their endeavor to fix and address this issue," Shanahan said.

She went on to express her willingness to support a role for Kennedy in the Trump administration if the former president is sincere about the issues that matter to her.
"I would fully support a strong partnership dedicated to this issue. A lot of people comment that in his first term, he didn't accomplish many things that mothers really were hoping he would do, made some big mistakes around the pandemic," Shanahan said. "However, I think he is sincere. I do."

Shanahan acknowledged that it is a "tight race" between Harris and Trump, but she believes Kennedy could have prevailed under better circumstances.
"I wish that we had had a chance to debate. I wish that we had fair representation in the polls. I wish we had a chance to be on stage because had we, we likely would have won this election," Shanahan said.

"To even be contemplating this, it's tough. It's a really hard decision, and we don't come to this moment lightly," she continued. "We come to this moment because in every single decision we make, first and foremost we want to make sure we are representing the best interests of health and wellness, of young people, of future generations."
The Kennedy-Shanahan ticket has faced numerous challenges in its quest to qualify for the ballot in various states. In New York, a judge ruled that Kennedy used a "sham" address to establish residency, disqualifying him from the ballot. Despite these setbacks, Shanahan remains defiant and determined to fight for what she believes in.

"We are not going to give up. We are not going to let the Democratic Party or anyone else silence our voices or prevent us from representing the people who believe in what we are fighting for," Shanahan said.
