A breakout month for several rookie hitters has sparked a shakeup in the rookie power rankings. While some veterans slipped out of the top 10, newcomers like Tyler Fitzgerald and Colton Cowser have emerged as standout performers.

### Article:

July proved to be a breakout month for a plethora of rookie hitters who've finally started to find their groove at the plate. Colt Keith, Austin Wells, and Jackson Chourio have all turned their rookie seasons around, showing promise for their future potential. Keith is the reigning American League Rookie of the Month, while Wells now ranks in the top nine among rookie position players in both bWAR and fWAR. Chourio has multiple hits in nine of his past 13 games and an .872 OPS since the start of June.

Despite a strong start to their rookie campaigns, Gavin Stone, Joey Ortiz, and Bryan Hudson have been bumped out of the top 10 due to their recent struggles. Stone's ERA has climbed to 4.15 in July, Ortiz has cooled off offensively, and Hudson has been hit hard in his last few outings.

Winn remains a top defensive shortstop and his consistent contact-making ability has made him a valuable asset.

Fitzgerald has become a key contributor for the Giants, earning NL Rookie of the Month honors in July. He currently has 11 homers and an OPS over 1.000.

Miller's dazzling performance in the All-Star Game solidified his status as an elite reliever. He leads all qualified relievers in strikeout rate (45.8%).

Gil rebounded from a rough June, showcasing his ability to miss bats and minimize damage. He leads all rookies in both strikeouts and walks.

Imanaga's early-season dominance has subsided somewhat, but he remains a reliable starter with an exceptional changeup. He is tied with Paul Skenes for the lead among rookie pitchers in fWAR.

Abreu has been one of the best rookie position players on a rate basis, leading in slugging and OPS. His missed time due to injury hasn't diminished his production.

Merrill's sensational June, in which he led all rookies with nine home runs, propelled him into the Rookie of the Year conversation. Despite inconsistent months, his overall production remains impressive.

Busch leads all NL rookies with 15 home runs and an OPS over .800. He has a knack for finding the sweet spot and has also played well at first base.

Cowser has stretched his hitting streak to 17 games, leading all AL players on our latest power rankings. He also leads all rookies with 16 home runs and has been an outstanding defensive outfielder.

Despite a recent hiccup, Skenes remains the top-ranked rookie. He leads all qualified rookies in ERA, WHIP, strikeout rate, and strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Tobias Myers (SP, Milwaukee Brewers), Ceddanne Rafaela (SS/CF, Boston Red Sox), Cade Smith (RP, Cleveland Guardians), Hunter Gaddis (RP, Cleveland Guardians), José Buttó (SP/RP, New York Mets), Spencer Schwellenbach (SP, Atlanta Braves), Hayden Birdsong (SP, San Francisco Giants), Nolan Schanuel (1B, Los Angeles Angels), and Max Schuemann (SS, Oakland Athletics).
