Tom Brady praised the Saints offense after their impressive start to the 2024 season, saying they have a "sign of things to come."
The New Orleans Saints' offense has been firing on all cylinders through the first two weeks of the 2024 NFL season, comprehensively dismantling the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys in back-to-back blowouts. Most notably, their Week 2 performance against the Cowboys featured a dominant display that stunned even the legendary Tom Brady.
Brady expressed his admiration for the Saints' offensive performance, particularly noting the impact of new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. "They mixed personnel, they mixed formations, they had these challenging motions, and then they got these chunk plays early in the game off the play action," Brady analyzed.

Kubiak's innovative play-calling has allowed quarterback Derek Carr to shine, silencing critics who doubted his abilities after a disappointing first season in New Orleans. "Derek Carr, we had a lot of questions about him. He made some A-plus throws today down the field, hitting guys in stride," Brady said. "He looks so comfortable in this offense."
Brady attributed the Saints' success to Kubiak's ability to prevent opposing defenses from unleashing their pass rush. "In this scheme, if you play from ahead, then the defense has to deal with every bootleg, every gimmick play, and then high-percentage passes that they have in the offense. It's very hard to stop."
Brady highlighted the Saints' versatile offense that keeps defenses guessing, forcing them to allocate their resources and attention. "You've got to stop the long ones. But then you got the inside run game, the outside run game, the reverses, the bootlegs. It was just a real challenge for Dallas to actually get them into a third down and use what their strength is, which is their pass rush."
While Carr has shown flashes of brilliance in the past, Brady acknowledged that consistency is key. "He's just got to do it consistently well throughout the entire season. You have games like this. You have games like last week. Can you string together a whole season of that?"
If Carr can sustain his high level of play, Brady believes the Saints can be a formidable force in the postseason. "Those are the types of questions Derek has a chance to answer for himself. If [he does] that, they're certainly going to be a team to deal with in the postseason."
The Saints' offense will face a stern test in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs, who boast one of the most dynamic and explosive offenses in the league. But if they can continue to execute Kubiak's scheme with precision and Carr continues to thrive, they have the potential to establish themselves as a legitimate playoff contender in 2024.
In conclusion, the Saints' offense has made a resounding statement in the early stages of the NFL season, earning praise from the GOAT himself, Tom Brady. With Klint Kubiak's innovative play-calling and Derek Carr's newfound confidence, the Saints have the ingredients to sustain their success and challenge for a championship in 2024.
