Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff has expressed concerns about President Biden's age and vigor, raising questions about his ability to beat former President Trump in the 2024 election.

Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff of California has raised concerns about President Biden's age and vigor, questioning whether he has the strength and vitality to defeat former President Trump in the 2024 election.

During an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press," Schiff praised Biden's accomplishments as president, citing his creation of jobs, strengthening of international alliances, and focus on climate change. However, he admitted that Biden's age is a significant factor that could impact the outcome of the race.

"But the performance on the debate stage I think rightfully raised questions among the American people about whether the president has the vigor to defeat Donald Trump," Schiff said.

Schiff's comments come amidst growing concerns within the Democratic Party about Biden's age and mental fitness. Some Democratic lawmakers have even called on the president to end his re-election campaign.

Schiff declined to endorse such a move, stating that it is ultimately Biden's decision to make. He urged the president to carefully consider the opinions of trusted advisors and make an informed judgment about his future plans.

"What I would advise the president is, seek out the opinions of people you trust," Schiff said. "He should take a moment to make the best-informed judgment and if the judgment is run, then run hard and beat that S.O.B."

Schiff also expressed confidence in Biden's ability to make the right decision, noting his track record of making sound judgments throughout his career.

"I think if the president takes the time to consult people and has an open mind about this, he will do what Joe Biden always does which is he will make the best decision," Schiff said.

The White House and Biden campaign have not yet responded to Schiff's comments.

Schiff is not the first Democratic lawmaker to express concerns about Biden's age. In recent months, other House Democrats, including Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota and Rep. Donna Shalala of Florida, have called on Biden to reconsider his re-election plans.

However, Biden has repeatedly stated that he intends to run for re-election, and he has the support of many senior Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

The Democratic National Committee has also expressed confidence in Biden, recently passing a resolution endorsing him as the party's presidential nominee in 2024.

Despite the concerns raised by some Democrats, Biden remains the favorite to win the Democratic nomination. He has a strong base of support among Democrats, and he is the incumbent president, which gives him a significant advantage.

However, Trump also remains a formidable opponent, and the 2024 election is likely to be a close and competitive race.
