Fox News host Sean Hannity discussed the credibility problems of Michael Cohen, former attorney for Donald Trump, during his show "Hannity." Hannity also criticized Judge Juan Merchan's handling of the New York v. Trump trial, calling it "beyond absurd."
Fox News host Sean Hannity has excoriated Michael Cohen, former attorney for President Donald Trump, for his performance under cross-examination in the New York v. Trump trial. Hannity also lambasted Judge Juan Merchan for his handling of the case, labeling the entire trial "beyond absurd."
During his show "Hannity," the Fox News host dissected Cohen's testimony, pointing out inconsistencies and contradictions in his statements. Hannity suggested that Cohen's credibility had been severely damaged under the scrutiny of cross-examination.
Hannity also criticized the Manhattan jury for its alleged political bias, suggesting that their leanings could influence the outcome of the trial unfairly. He argued that the case should be dismissed on a directed verdict due to its "far-fetched legal theory."
"This is beyond absurd," Hannity declared. "Frankly, it's not justice."
Hannity accused the prosecution of weaponizing the justice system against Trump and his associates. He claimed that the AG in New York was pursuing the case solely for political reasons.
"Their goal here is to garner a conviction merely because of the political leanings of the Manhattan jury," Hannity asserted.
He emphasized that the trial was about the law, and that the attorneys involved should be allowed to present legal experts to provide their opinions. However, he claimed that Judge Merchan was preventing the defense from doing so.
Hannity concluded his segment by reiterating his belief that the trial was a dangerous example of the weaponization of the justice system in America. He warned that such actions could have serious consequences for the future of the country.
In response to Hannity's comments, Cohen's attorney, Lanny Davis, defended his client's credibility and the integrity of the trial. He accused Hannity of spreading false information and attempting to influence the jury.
