A small plane crashed into a residential neighborhood near the Portland International Airport in Oregon on Saturday morning, causing a fire and sending up a large plume of smoke.

The plane, a twin-engine Cessna 421C, went down around 10:30 a.m. in the city of Fairview, which is located about 10 miles northeast of Portland.

Videos shared on social media showed the plane engulfed in flames and a large plume of smoke rising high into the air. The videos also appeared to show damage to a house in the neighborhood.
The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said it was responding to the scene and would provide updates as they became available. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it was investigating the crash and did not yet know how many people were on board the plane.

The plane crashed close to the Troutdale Airport, which is a smaller airport used for flight training and recreational flying.
Officials have not yet said if there are any injuries or deaths as a result of the crash. Power is out in the area, according to FOX 12.
