Former FCC Chair Ajit Pai expresses concerns over the FCC's expedited approval of George Soros' purchase of over 200 US radio stations, citing potential implications for the upcoming election.
Former Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai has raised concerns over the FCC's expedited approval of George Soros' purchase of more than 200 US radio stations, arguing that it may provide the far-left billionaire with undue influence over media during the upcoming election.
Fox News Digital has exclusively reported that New York congressional candidate Laura Gillen, a town supervisor in Hempstead, New York, received a $40,000 salary as a "fellow" with the left-wing dark money network Our American Future Foundation (OAFF) in 2023. The group is heavily funded by Soros' political empire.

OAFF and its sister nonprofit, Our American Future Action, are supported by the Open Society Foundations, founded by Soros. According to the organization, its Open Society Action Fund has donated over $18 million to Our American Future Action for non-partisan policy advocacy and civic engagement. Tax filings show that Our American Future Foundation is the "direct controlling entity" of Our American Future Action.
Caitlin Sutherland, executive director of the non-profit watchdog group Americans for Public Trust, expressed concerns about the funding of candidates through programs disguised as "fellowships." She questioned Gillen's accountability to voters if elected, given the support she received from Soros' groups.

Gillen and fellow New York Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman have accused opponents of using antisemitic tropes by pointing out Soros' backing. However, Soros' groups have been linked to funding antisemitic protests aimed at delegitimizing Israel.
OAFF's fellowship program provides financial support to aspiring political candidates, primarily Democrats, to focus on future campaigns. Several candidates in competitive 2024 contests have received funding from the group.
Soros' 'Shortcut' to Buying Radio Stations Raises Concerns Ahead of Election
The non-profit watchdog group Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission, alleging that OAFF's payments to future House candidates violate federal law. FACT claims that the payments are explicitly designed to advance political prospects.
Soros has poured millions into various groups and committees supporting Democrats in the 2024 cycle. His super PACs, Democracy PAC and Democracy PAC II, have donated $53 million to left-wing groups, including the League of Conservation Voters Victory Fund, which recently supported Gillen's candidacy.

Gillen's campaign and the Open Society Foundation have not responded to Fox News Digital's requests for comment.
Pai's concerns raise questions about the potential implications of Soros' media ownership on the dissemination of information during the upcoming election. Critics argue that it could provide him with an unfair advantage in shaping public opinion.
