The third quarter saw no let-up from South Alabama. They continued to pile on the points, scoring another 28 to extend their lead to an unassailable 80-3. The Demons finally managed to get on the scoreboard with a touchdown pass from JT Fyard to Myles Kitt-Denton, but it was a mere consolation amidst the Jags' offensive fireworks.

In the fourth quarter, South Alabama's offense slowed down slightly, but they still added seven more points to their tally. The final score of 87-10 marked the largest margin of victory for South Alabama in its history and the most points scored by a team in the Football Bowl Subdivision since 1991.

Quarterback Gio Lopez was instrumental in the Jaguars' offensive explosion. He completed 15 of 19 passes for 257 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his accuracy and efficiency. Fluff Bothwell's dominance on the ground was also crucial, as he rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns on just seven carries.

Kentrel Bullock and P.J. Martin also contributed to the Jaguars' offensive onslaught, each scoring a touchdown. Jarvis Durr rounded out the scoring with a touchdown reception.

For the Demons, quarterback JT Fyard had a difficult outing. He threw for 165 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Myles Kitt-Denton was the Demons' top receiver, finishing with three catches for 80 yards and a touchdown.

South Alabama's previous scoring highs came in back-to-back weeks last season, when they defeated Louisiana Monroe 55-7 and Southern Mississippi 55-3. However, their 87 points against Northwestern State shattered all previous records.

The Jaguars' victory was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the team under head coach Major Applewhite. It was a historic moment for South Alabama, and it will undoubtedly be remembered for years to come.
