Chris Russo, known for his sports commentary, has broken his usual political silence, harshly criticizing former President Donald Trump's behavior towards President Joe Biden, particularly after Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race.

Chris Russo, the legendary sports radio personality, has unleashed his disapproval of former President Donald Trump's conduct towards President Joe Biden, specifically following Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race. Russo, who typically steers clear of political discussions on his show, couldn't contain his frustrations during an appearance on the "Sports Illustrated Media Podcast" hosted by Jimmy Traina.

Traina's reference to Trump as "an animal" ignited Russo's ire, prompting him to launch into a tirade against the Republican presidential nominee, primarily for his treatment of Biden. "What is he doing?" exclaimed Russo, according to Awful Announcing. "Biden announces he's gonna leave, drop out. And he kills him?"

Russo acknowledged differing political opinions, but expressed his admiration for Biden's long-standing service to the nation and his personal tragedies, which he believes should warrant some empathy. "Say what you want about him... but [Biden] did give his freakin' life to the United States from 1972-on," stated Russo. "He also had tragedy in his life with his wife and child who died in that car accident... I think his heart, whether you like his policy or not, is generally speaking in the right place. I think he cares."

Russo's criticism extended to Trump's unrelenting attacks on Biden, even after his decision to withdraw from the race. "The fact that [Trump] can't let him leave the scene quietly and give him his day," said Russo. "Even Biden, when Trump got shot, said, 'I'm gonna call him,' and he called him by his first name."

Russo pointed out that Biden has also risen above political fray on occasion, highlighting his call to Trump after the Capitol riot. "Even Biden has at times to be above the fray," Russo emphasized. "It really bothered me. Don, can you let the man for 24 hours, six months before the election go out with a little grace? And not pound him... that really bothered me."

In the wake of Biden's withdrawal announcement on July 21, Trump attacked him as "the worst president in the history of our country," claiming he was "not fit to serve," and questioning who would control the nation for the remaining months of his term. More recently, while expressing his belief that Biden had the "right to run" for re-election, Trump asserted that the Democratic Party had "taken it away" from him.

Russo's outspoken condemnation adds to the chorus of voices criticizing Trump's behavior, particularly his lack of decorum and the divisive rhetoric he employs. As the nation enters an election year, such statements from influential figures, even those typically apolitical, underscore the increasing polarization and heightened tensions in American society.
