"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin criticized Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, for indicating support for former President Donald Trump, arguing that she should have known better due to her interracial marriage.
"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin launched a scathing attack on Brittany Mahomes on Wednesday, criticizing her for indicating support for former President Donald Trump and suggesting that she should have known better given her interracial marriage.
Hostin argued that Mahomes should have been aware of the problematic nature of supporting a "racist" like Trump, especially considering that her children are biracial and her family would not have been welcome in Trump's buildings during the 1970s.

Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, had previously liked an Instagram post outlining Trump's platform, sparking backlash. She also liked subsequent comments on her own posts that hinted at support for the GOP ticket.
Hostin, who has repeatedly made disparaging remarks about Black Republicans, questioned Mahomes' political savviness and suggested that she had not fully considered the implications of her actions.

"It just seems to me that maybe she's just not that politically savvy or maybe she's just not read in," Hostin said.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed out that they could not be certain of Mahomes' support for Trump, but her social media activity indicated such a possibility.

The hosts also highlighted a Daily Mail report citing an anonymous source close to Mahomes, claiming that Trump's attack on Mahomes' friend, Taylor Swift, had left her "shaken to the core."
"Pick your champions," co-host Whoopi Goldberg told Mahomes.
Swift, who is the girlfriend of Chiefs tight-end Travis Kelce, has publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump has subsequently targeted Swift on social media.
Patrick Mahomes has taken the stance of not endorsing a presidential candidate, emphasizing his desire to inform people about voting and encouraging them to make their own decisions.
Hostin's criticism of Mahomes is not the first time she has made controversial remarks about Black Republicans. In a 2022 episode of "The View," she dismissed the existence of Latino Republicans, stating that she did not understand them.
Her comments have drawn condemnation from Black and Latino Republicans, who have accused Hostin of racism.
