Taiwan's representative to the U.S., Alexander Yui, has issued a warning about an emerging "alliance" between China, Iran, and Russia, calling it a potential threat to global stability.

Taiwan's de facto ambassador to the United States, Alexander Yui, has raised concerns about an emerging alliance between China, Iran, and Russia, describing it as a potential threat to global stability. In an exclusive interview with Fox News, Yui expressed his belief that these autocratic nations are working together to challenge the existing international order.

Yui's statements come shortly after U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken acknowledged that the three countries were cooperating, but stopped short of labeling it an "axis." However, Yui maintained that the evidence suggests a deeper level of collaboration, with China's President Xi Jinping emboldened by recent developments.

"They're working together, that's for sure," Yui told Fox News. "And as you know, it's up to anyone to define it. But there were certainly there are symptoms, signs that they're working together."

Yui cited the recent joint military exercises conducted by China and Russia, as well as Iran's increased aggression in the Middle East, as examples of this collaboration. He emphasized the need for the rest of the world to be prepared for potential consequences.

"The whole world is watching, and I'm sure the diplomatic community here in Washington, D.C., is also watching closely and [trying] to reach out to both candidates or to the people around the candidates," Yui said.

The Taiwan ambassador's warnings align with the concerns raised by national security hawks on both the right and left. Former President Donald Trump's administration had also expressed concerns about the growing cooperation between China, Iran, and Russia.

In a 2020 op-ed, then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo wrote, "China has aligned itself with Russia and Iran – two of the world’s most aggressive rogue regimes." He warned that these nations were "working together to undermine international institutions, advance their authoritarian agendas, and challenge America."

The Biden administration has taken a more measured approach, acknowledging the cooperation between the three countries but not labeling it an "axis." However, Yui's statements suggest that the Taiwan government believes the threat is more serious than the U.S. has publicly acknowledged.

As concerns grow about the potential alliance between China, Iran, and Russia, it remains to be seen how the U.S. and its allies will respond. Yui's warnings serve as a reminder of the potential dangers posed by authoritarian regimes joining forces to challenge the existing international order.
