A Florida man who works at a dock in the Bahamas narrowly escaped death after being swarmed by a group of 20 sharks when he fell into the water.

Marlin Wakeman, 24, was working on a dock in the Bahamas on April 26 when he had a terrifying encounter with a group of sharks. Wakeman was walking along the dock when he accidentally fell into the water. As he hit the water, he was immediately swarmed by 20 sharks.

"I was in a shark den," Wakeman said. "I was getting bit on my legs and my arms. I was just trying to fight them off and get away."

Wakeman said he fought off the sharks for several minutes before he was able to make it back to the dock. He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.

"I'm lucky to be alive," Wakeman said. "I never thought I would see sharks in the Bahamas."
