Texans Poised for Passing Prowess with Stroud and Diggs Tandem

C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans appear poised for an explosive passing attack in the upcoming NFL season, bolstered by the acquisition of four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

The Houston Texans have assembled a formidable receiving corps that could ignite their offense to new heights. The arrival of Stefon Diggs, a perennial 100-plus reception and 1,000-plus receiving yards threat, has further fueled expectations for a prolific aerial assault.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud, the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, will have a plethora of weapons at his disposal. Nico Collins emerged as a breakout star in 2023, amassing 1,297 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Rookie Tank Dell flashed his potential with 47 receptions for 709 yards and seven scores before a season-ending injury.

Tight end Dalton Schultz proved to be a reliable target, accumulating 59 receptions for 635 yards and five touchdowns. Noah Brown and Robert Woods combined for 993 receiving yards, further solidifying the depth of the Texans' passing attack.

Last season, the Texans averaged 245.5 passing yards per game, ranking seventh in the NFL. The addition of Diggs is expected to significantly elevate that number, especially considering his ability to stretch the field and open up opportunities for his teammates.

Stroud, who passed for 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns as a rookie, is known for his accuracy and efficient passing game. His presence adds another dimension to the Texans' offense, giving them a quarterback who can make quick decisions and deliver the ball with precision.

The Texans have also bolstered their running game with the acquisition of veteran running back Joe Mixon, who has consistently rushed for over 1,000 yards per season. Mixon's presence will provide a balance to the Texans' offense and further ease the pressure on Stroud.

Despite their success in 2023, the Texans understand the challenges that lie ahead as they aim to defend their AFC South division title and make another run in the playoffs. Stroud acknowledges that they will have a target on their back but embraces the challenge.

"It's going to be harder," Stroud said. "We have a target on our back this year. That's how you should want it, and that's what I'm used to playing at Ohio State. I'm really honored and blessed to have the teammates that I do to want that challenge and for guys to want to come and play here."

The Texans are confident that if they continue to work hard and execute their game plan, the results will follow. The story, as they say, is already written.
