Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian and his wife Loreal have announced that they are amicably parting ways and filing for divorce.

In a joint statement, Steve and Loreal Sarkisian stated that their split is amicable and that they remain committed to "being the best of friends." The Sarkisians tied the knot in 2020 when Steve was the offensive coordinator under Nick Saban at Alabama. They moved to Austin in 2021 after Steve was appointed head coach at Texas. Loreal has been a constant presence at Longhorns football games, supporting her husband and the team.

Under Sarkisian's leadership, Texas finished with a 5-7 record in 2021. However, the team improved to an 8-5 record in 2022, showcasing progress under his guidance. Sarkisian is now preparing the Longhorns for their inaugural season in the Southeastern Conference.
