Former FBI agent Nicole Parker discusses the recent controversy surrounding a questionnaire given to some agency employees, which included questions about their support for former President Trump and their vaccination status. She also raises concerns about the agency's leadership and the potential erosion of trust among employees and the public.
In the wake of recent revelations about the FBI's questionable practices, former agent and Fox News contributor Nicole Parker has expressed her concerns about the agency's current leadership and the erosion of trust among employees and the public. Parker's comments come amidst an ongoing investigation into the motives behind Thomas Matthew Crooks' attempt to assassinate former President Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
During a Congressional hearing, FBI Director Christopher Wray admitted to the existence of a questionnaire given to some agency employees, which included questions about their support for Trump and their vaccination status. Wray claimed that the questionnaire was created by an outside contractor and that he was unaware of its existence. However, Parker has raised concerns that the questionnaire is part of a pattern of inappropriate behavior within the FBI.

"There is a pattern of Director Wray allegedly being blindsided and out of touch with these types of incidents happening throughout the agency — the agency that he has been entrusted to lead," said Parker. "I understand that Director Wray has multiple responsibilities and cannot micromanage every detail. But why is the FBI promoting these types of individuals to key leadership roles who lack reasonable judgment?"
Parker also highlighted the fact that FBI contractors are often former agents, raising questions about the independence and impartiality of these contractors. "This questionnaire is abhorrent and highlights the divisive partisan politics going on at the FBI," said Parker. "The American taxpayers have a right to question what the FBI perceives as a quality leader."

Wray's attempts to distance himself from the incident by blaming a contractor have not been well received by Parker. "The contractors are being paid by the FBI's budget, so the buck stops with the FBI director," she said. "The FBI is accountable for questions being asked of its employees and the money being paid to contractors to do so. It should be noted that not always but oftentimes these FBI contractors are retired FBI special agents."
The FBI's recent actions have raised concerns about the agency's ability to impartially investigate the assassination attempt on Trump. Parker believes that the questionnaire and other similar incidents have eroded trust among FBI employees and the public.
The Questionable Practices of the FBI Under Director Wray
"Trust is built when the American people hold the FBI director responsible for his agency being used to question the politics of FBI employees," said Parker. "Wray attempts to distance himself from the incident, dismissing it as a contractor who formulated the questionnaire. The FBI is accountable for questions being asked of its employees and the money being paid to contractors to do so."
As the investigation into the assassination attempt continues, it remains to be seen whether the FBI can regain the trust of the public and its own employees. The agency's recent actions have raised serious questions about its leadership and the potential for political bias to influence its operations.
