Paul elaborated on the emotional toll the incident took on her, saying that it was "a blessing in disguise" and "maybe could have saved my life."
"I hit rock bottom, and there's only one way to go, and it helped me to go up," she explained. "So honestly, as bad as that night was, I think it was also like a blessing in disguise."

Paul's arrest occurred in February 2023, shortly after her admission on TikTok that she had engaged in "soft swinging" with a group of Mormon friends. The incident led to multiple charges, including aggravated assault, domestic violence in the presence of a child, and child abuse with injury.
In August 2023, Paul pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, while the other charges were dismissed. She has since expressed regret for her actions and said that she has learned from her experience.

Paul's swingers sex scandal sent shock waves through the Mormon community and the internet, particularly within the "MomTok" group of Utah-based wives and mothers.
Following the scandal, Paul and her husband, Tate, divorced, and she began dating real estate agent Dakota Mortenson. Their relationship has been marked by ups and downs, including Paul's domestic violence arrest.

"The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" follows the fallout from the scandal and explores how it affected Paul and the other women involved.

Jessi Ngatikaura, a co-star on "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," said that the scandal rocked the MomTok group.
"Since we were all kind of close friends on the internet, people just assumed everyone in MomTok was involved," Ngatikaura explained. "So it was hard to navigate everyone just all of a sudden throwing accusations at you because of misconceptions."

Ngatikaura added that the friendship group dissipated as a result of the scandal.
"The cast of the show is a little bit different than the actual MomTok group because of that," she said. "There were a lot of people who didn't want anything to do with Taylor or MomTok anymore."

"Their sisterhood is shook to its core," reads a description of the show. " Faith, friendship and reputations are all on the line. Will #MomTok be able to survive and continue to give the rulebook a run for its money, or will this group fall from grace?"
The women's husbands and partners also play a significant role in the show, offering their perspectives on the scandal and its impact on their relationships.
Paul revealed that her ex-husband, Tate, was initially shocked by her admission of their swingers lifestyle.
"I think when it hit the internet, everyone was kind of in survival mode," she recalled. "[Tate] kind of quieted down and kind of just wanted to mind his own business."
Ngatikaura noted that the scandal created insecurities among some of the husbands.
"I would say that a lot of the husbands in the group that didn't know it was happening until the swinging scandal broke were like, ‘Oh my gosh, could that happen to me now?’" she said. "And I think that kind of led into jealousy with the husbands."
All eight episodes of "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" are available on Hulu on September 6th.
