"The View" co-host Joy Behar expressed her dismay Thursday over a poll revealing that more swing state voters trust former President Donald Trump to safeguard democracy than President Joe Biden.
"The View" co-host Joy Behar expressed her deep concern on Thursday over a poll that found more key swing state voters trust Donald Trump to handle threats to democracy than President Joe Biden.
"Were these people watching TV on January 6?" Behar exclaimed, referring to the Capitol insurrection incited by Trump supporters. "This is a depressing, depressing time we're in."

The Washington Post poll, published Wednesday, reported that 44% of key swing state voters trust Trump more on the issue of protecting democracy, compared to only 33% who believe Biden would do a better job.
Behar condemned the poll's findings, specifically those among undecided voters, known as "deciders." "The poll found that 38% of the 'deciders' believe Trump is better suited to deal with threats to democracy, 29% believe Biden would do a better job, and 23% said they didn't trust either candidate.

Behar denounced the GOP's agenda, alleging their intent to eliminate "gay marriage" and "women's rights." She also criticized Biden, referring to him as having "a senior moment" despite his effective management of the country.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin acknowledged that many undecided voters genuinely oppose both Trump and Biden's policies, particularly regarding student loans and border security.

Behar, visibly frustrated, asserted that Biden had attempted to address border issues earlier in his term.
Co-host Sunny Hostin expressed her belief that the indecisive voters are choosing between Biden and apathy, not Biden and Trump. Hostin argued that dismissing them as irrational was dismissive.
Behar countered that these voters were not irrational, simply uninformed. Hostin emphasized the importance of the upcoming debate between Biden and Trump in clarifying issues for these undecided voters.
Biden and Trump are set to face off on Thursday in a 90-minute debate in Atlanta, Georgia. The debate will feature no studio audience, muted microphones during each candidate's speaking time, and no props or prepared notes.
