The bodies of three hostages taken captive by Hamas during an attack on Israel in October were recovered overnight in Gaza. The hostages were identified as 42-year-old Hanan Yablonka, 30-year-old Orión Hernández Radoux, and 59-year-old Michel Nisenbaum. The recovery took place during an operation in Jabalia, a city in northern Gaza.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the recovery of the bodies of three hostages taken by Hamas terrorists during the group's Oct. 7 attack on Israel, bringing the total number of confirmed fatalities to 39.
The recovery took place during an overnight operation in Jabalia, a city in northern Gaza. The hostages were identified by the IDF as 42-year-old Hanan Yablonka, 30-year-old Orión Hernández Radoux, and 59-year-old Michel Nisenbaum.
Yablonka, a divorced father of two, was with four friends in his vehicle when Hamas launched its attack. One of the friends was found dead in the car, one in a field, and the other two in a nearby hiding place.
Radoux, a French-Mexican citizen, was captured at the Nova music festival he was attending with his girlfriend, Shani Louk. Louk's body was one of three recovered on May 17.
Nisenbaum, who had lived in Israel since 1988, was on his way to pick up his granddaughter when he was taken hostage, according to the IDF.
The Hostages Families Forum Headquarters released a statement expressing heartbreak and sorrow, calling on the State of Israel to immediately dispatch negotiation teams to secure the release of all hostages.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his grief and vowed to do everything in power to return the hostages, both living and dead.
French President Emmanuel Macron also extended his condolences, highlighting France's commitment to securing the release of all hostages.
Hamas terrorists are still believed to be holding 125 hostages in Gaza, with 39 confirmed deceased. The group has been holding hostages for 231 days.
The IDF continues to conduct operations to locate and rescue the remaining hostages, emphasizing its obligation to return them to Israel for rehabilitation or burial.
The recovery of the three hostages' bodies provides closure to their families, but the ongoing detention of other hostages continues to cause immense pain and anxiety.
