The Nuggets, propelled by reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic, established an early advantage, building a commanding 58-38 lead with just over 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter. However, the momentum shifted dramatically as Anthony Edwards, the Timberwolves' leading scorer, finally found his rhythm. Edwards connected on a series of clutch shots, igniting a 28-14 run that trimmed Minnesota's deficit to just six points at the end of the third quarter.

The Timberwolves maintained their newfound energy in the fourth quarter, extending their lead to 92-82 with just over three minutes remaining. Although the Nuggets, with the support of their home crowd, attempted a valiant comeback, Karl-Anthony Towns sealed Minnesota's victory with a thunderous putback dunk with 43 seconds left on the clock.
