Expressing a mix of disappointment and gratitude, Selleck told TV Insider, "I'm kind of frustrated. During those last eight shows, I haven't wanted to talk about an ending for 'Blue Bloods' but about it still being wildly successful."

Selleck elaborated on the show's remarkable success, citing its consistent high ratings and its position among the Top 100 Shows of 2023-2024. Despite its enduring popularity, Selleck's frustration stems from the show's perceived lack of appreciation.

"My frustration is the show was always taken for granted because it performed from the get-go. So, how do I feel? It's going to take a long time to sort all of this out," Selleck admitted.

The end of "Blue Bloods" also poses a financial concern for Selleck. The actor disclosed that he may be forced to give up his sprawling 63-acre ranch in Ventura County, California, which he has owned since 1988.

"If I stopped working, yeah. Am I set for life? Yeah, but maybe not on a 63-acre ranch!" Selleck told CBS Mornings.

The ranch holds significant sentimental value for Selleck, as he purchased it after leaving "Magnum: PI" and has dedicated much time and effort to its restoration.

"You know, hopefully I keep working enough to hold onto the place," Selleck said.

Beyond his financial concerns, Selleck expressed a deep emotional attachment to "Blue Bloods." He credits the show for enriching his life and acknowledges the void it will leave once it ends.

"I'll miss my friends. I'll miss the writers. I'll miss the crew. I'll miss the stories. I'll miss Frank Reagan," Selleck said.

Despite his disappointment, Selleck remains grateful for the opportunity to have worked on "Blue Bloods" and to have played such an iconic character. He emphasizes the importance of remembering the show's positive legacy and the joy it has brought to countless viewers.

"I'm going to miss it, but I'm also going to cherish it," Selleck said.
