Court documents obtained by Fox News Digital reveal that City National Bank is seeking to collect more than $400,000 in debt from Spelling and McDermott, who filed for divorce earlier this year after 18 years of marriage.

The lawsuit, initially filed in 2016, alleges that the celebrity couple breached a contract and failed to repay an unpaid principal balance of $185,714.05. Accrued interest and late charges have since pushed the total amount owed to $400,000, with each individual responsible for over $200,000.

The recent judgment filed in a Los Angeles County court states that Spelling currently owes $219,796.66, while McDermott owes $202,066.10. The lawsuit further notes that "interest, attorneys' fees, and costs continue to accrue."

Representatives for both Spelling and McDermott have not yet responded to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

The ongoing financial dispute adds another layer to the couple's already tumultuous divorce proceedings. McDermott recently requested spousal support from Spelling, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split. The Canadian actor also requested joint legal and physical custody of their five children.

Spelling, on the other hand, filed for divorce in March, requesting spousal support from McDermott while also asking the court to terminate the court's ability to award spousal support to her estranged husband. She also requested full custody of the children, with joint legal custody.
