According to the New York Post, citing a source briefed by the Minaya family, suicide has been ruled out as the cause of death. Omar Minaya was not present at their home at the time of Rachel's passing.

Before his successful career in baseball, Omar met Rachel at a New York City hair salon in 1989. They were engaged within the year. The couple's bond was evident in their unwavering support for one another throughout life's challenges and triumphs.
