Responding officers arrived on the scene to the harrowing sound of ongoing gunshots. Inside the residence, they discovered four victims deceased and several others wounded. The suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Chase Garvey, had fled the scene in a vehicle.

A motive for the shooting remains elusive, and the investigation is ongoing. However, the incident has sent shockwaves through the Florence community. "We've never dealt with this before," said a visibly shaken Chief Mallery. "This is the first time we've had a mass shooting in Florence, so yeah, it's very emotional."
Three additional victims, who sustained critical injuries, were transported to a local hospital. They are currently listed as stable and are expected to make a full recovery. Florence Police Department reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat following the tragedy.
