Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce recently turned down an offer to participate in Netflix's upcoming series, "Receiver," a follow-up to the hit show "Quarterback." Kelce's decision stems from his desire to prioritize football and avoid the distractions of reality television.

Netflix's "Quarterback" captivated viewers last summer with an intimate glimpse into the lives of top NFL quarterbacks. The streaming giant is now set to release a spin-off series, "Receiver," which will delve into the 2023 seasons of five standout wide receivers: Justin Jefferson, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Davante Adams, and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

However, one notable name missing from the "Receiver" lineup is Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs' star tight end. Kelce confirmed that he was approached about the project but ultimately decided against participating.

"I did get asked about it. I just, I don’t know," Kelce explained on his podcast, "Bussin' with the Boys." "I’d rather just play ball, man. I’m already doing enough with the podcast and everything. I’m way over the reality s---. I’m out on that s---."

Kelce's decision highlights his commitment to focusing on his football career and avoiding the potential distractions of reality television. While he acknowledges the appeal of such shows, he believes that his time is better spent on the field and in his personal life.

"I liked how my brother Jason did his Amazon documentary about his life and the ups and downs that came with the end of his Philadelphia Eagles career," Kelce said of his brother's reality television experience. "However, for me, I’m trying to stay out of reality TV."

Kelce's rejection of "Receiver" comes as no surprise given his past experiences with reality dating shows. He previously starred in "Catching Kelce," a show in which he searched for love. However, that experience occurred before he began dating country music superstar Taylor Swift, with whom he has been in a highly publicized relationship for nearly a year.

Despite declining Netflix's offer, Kelce remains active in the entertainment industry. He co-hosts the popular "New Heights" podcast with his brother and is set to host the game show "Are You Smarter than a Celebrity?" on Amazon Prime Video.

Kelce's decision to prioritize his privacy and football career is a reminder that not all athletes are eager to embrace the spotlight of reality television. He prefers to keep his personal life out of the public eye and focus on his on-field success, which has made him one of the most respected players in the NFL.
