Former President Trump claims to be leading in polls, while Democratic nominee Vice President Harris acknowledges the close race.
With the 2024 presidential election less than nine weeks away, the race between former President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris has tightened substantially. Trump expressed confidence in his position, claiming he is leading in polls during an interview with Fox News' Bryan Llenas. At a subsequent rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Trump reiterated that "our poll numbers are starting to skyrocket."
Harris, on the other hand, urged her supporters to "not pay too much attention to the polls because we are running as the underdog." She acknowledged the challenges ahead at a rally in Savannah, Georgia, stating that "we have some hard work ahead of us."

The presidential election outcome hinges on the outcome in key battleground states that swung the 2020 election in Trump's favor. The latest polls in these seven battleground states indicate a margin-of-error race, reflecting the tight contest between Trump and Harris.
A recent Fox News poll in four key battleground states garnered significant attention. The poll indicated a narrow lead for Harris over Trump, but within the margin of error. This suggests that the race remains highly competitive in these pivotal states.

In July, President Joe Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed Harris, resulting in a surge in her popularity and fundraising efforts. However, Harris acknowledges the uphill battle ahead, predicting that "this is going to be a tight race until the very end."
Trump's team is confident in their candidate's standing, citing his history of outperforming public opinion surveys. Senior adviser Cory Lewandowski noted that Trump trailed Hillary Clinton by 5.9 points in polls at this stage in 2016 and Joe Biden by 6.9 points in 2020.

Harris's message to her supporters emphasizes the importance of their active participation in the electoral process. She encourages them to remain engaged and motivated, recognizing that the election outcome rests on their efforts.
