Former President Donald Trump, injured in a second assassination attempt, accuses President Biden and Vice President Harris of inciting violence with their rhetoric. Despite revelations of Secret Service failures, Trump asserts that he alone can protect the nation.

Former President Donald Trump, narrowly escaping a second assassination attempt, has blamed President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for inciting violence with their rhetoric. Trump made the accusations in an exclusive interview with Fox News, claiming that the suspects in both attempts "acted" on the "highly inflammatory language" of Democrats.

"They are the ones that are destroying the country – both from the inside and out," Trump stated, refuting the Biden administration's claims of unity. He pointed to Biden and Harris' past comments labeling him a "threat to democracy" as evidence of their divisive stance.

Trump's remarks come amidst growing scrutiny over the Secret Service's failures in protecting him. A recent report by Republican Senator Josh Hawley exposed a "compounding pattern of negligence, sloppiness, and gross incompetence" within the agency, culminating in the near-successful assassination attempt in July.

Hawley's report revealed that the Secret Service failed to properly assess the rally site, declined offers of drone surveillance, ignored requests for additional security resources, and had a lead agent with a history of incompetence responsible for site security.

Amidst mounting pressure, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle and Assistant Director Michael Plati have resigned. At least five agents have been placed on leave.

Despite the revelations, Trump maintained his belief that he alone can "save the country." He asserted that he will "go all out" to ensure his safety, even if it means "going to places that are not so safe" and "not backing down."

Trump's second assassination attempt occurred on September 18, 2024, at his golf course in Florida. Secret Service agents shot and arrested a suspect identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, who allegedly pointed an AK-47 at the former president.

Routh, who has a history of run-ins with the law, smiled and laughed during his first court appearance. He faces charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
