Former President Donald Trump has declared his confidence in winning New York in the November elections, citing a "special relationship" with voters. Trump made the bold claim after rallying an estimated 25,000 supporters in the deep-blue Bronx, a district that has not elected a Republican in a century.

"When you see all these people here of all different backgrounds, do you think the Republican Party can win here?" "FOX & Friends" co-host Lawrence Jones asked Trump.

"Well, I don't know about other races. I think we can win New York as a presidential candidate because I have a special relationship with these people," the former president responded.

Trump's confidence stems from the record-breaking crowds he has drawn during recent events. In neighboring New Jersey, he attracted an estimated 80,000 to 100,000 supporters.

"We have the largest crowds we've ever had," Trump said, noting that he increased his vote total by 11 million from 2016 to 2020.

"I will say this, as good as 2016 and 2020 were, it's nothing compared to what's happening now, and you see that," he added.

Despite trailing President Biden by nine points in a recent Siena poll, Trump remains optimistic. A rallygoer told Fox News' Alexis McAdams that Trump "absolutely" can win the Empire State, citing past electoral surprises.

"A lot of times people take things for granted," the attendee said. "People thought that Hillary [Clinton] was going to clinch the presidency... in a coronation, and that didn't happen, so there's always room for surprises."

Trump vowed to "turn New York City around" during the rally, promising to restore safety and improve schools. He expressed a willingness to work with Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams to address pressing issues like subway renovations, park maintenance, and addressing homelessness and mental illness.

"It's time for a change of leadership," another attendee told McAdams. "We've been voting down the same party for years now and nothing has changed. Things have gotten out of control."

Trump also used the speech to criticize President Biden's economic policies, which he argued disproportionately impacted Black and Hispanic families. He emphasized high energy and inflation rates, as well as the perceived weakness on the world stage.

"I've always been raised to think a certain way," said one supporter, expressing her desire to "right a wrong" by voting for Trump.

Trump's bold predictions and unwavering optimism will be tested in the highly contested New York elections. While some remain skeptical, his ability to connect with voters and energize his base could potentially shake up the political landscape.
