Former President Donald Trump has hinted at the possibility of a third debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, despite previously declaring that such a prospect was "dead." Trump's comments come as Fox News Media has proposed hosting a second debate, with Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum as moderators.
Former President Donald Trump has seemingly left the door open for a potential third debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, following his initial declaration that a second one-on-one was off the table.

During a press conference in California, Trump responded to Fox News' Aishah Hasnie's query regarding his willingness to participate in another debate. "I wouldn't need anything. I could do it tomorrow," Trump declared. "I've done two debates. Everything was crooked in the second one."
"I did great in the debates, and I think they've answered everything," he added. "But maybe if I got in the right mood, I don't know." Trump's assertion was further bolstered by his claim of leading in "every single" post-debate poll.

This latest statement contrasts with Trump's previous stance expressed on Truth Social, where he had emphatically declared that the prospects of a third debate were null. However, in a subsequent post, he had suggested that he might consider a rematch if he was in the "right mood."
Trump had initially agreed to debates proposed by Fox News and NBC News prior to the ABC News debate, both of which Harris did not accept. Fox News Media has since extended an invitation to both the Trump and Harris campaigns, proposing three dates in October for a second debate, with Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum as moderators.

Meanwhile, Trump's running mate, Senator J.D. Vance, is set to face off against his Democratic rival, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, in a debate hosted by CBS News on October 1.
Tuesday's ABC News Presidential Debate marked Trump's second presidential debate, after his encounter with President Biden in June, hosted by CNN. Biden's dismal debate performance ultimately led to his withdrawal from the race, with Harris emerging as the Democratic nominee.

Trump went on to participate in the ABC News Presidential Debate despite his initial agreement with Biden. Harris attempted to alter the rules established between the Trump and Biden campaigns by advocating for unmuted mics, an effort that proved unsuccessful.
Since the debate, Trump has repeatedly alluded to the moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis, criticizing them for their frequent fact-checking of his statements while exhibiting a more lenient approach towards Harris. The moderators have faced intense backlash for their perceived bias.
