Former President Donald Trump predicted New York City Mayor Eric Adams would be indicted within a year, and he was right.
Trump spoke to reporters Thursday, saying he made the prediction about Adams based on the mayor's past statements about illegal migrants.

Adams was indicted Wednesday on federal criminal charges, including conspiracy to receive campaign contributions from foreign nationals and commit wire fraud and bribery.

Trump said he doesn't know Adams very well, but acknowledged that the current mayor has been generous toward him in his statements.
"I will say this. I watched about a year ago when [Adams] talked about how the illegal migrants are hurting our city, and the federal government should pay us and we shouldn’t have to take them," Trump said. "I said, ‘You know what? He’ll be indicted within a year.’ And I was exactly right because that’s what we have."

Trump continued to speak about the immigration problem that Adams spoke ill of, and called on federal officials to pay New York City to handle it.
"He said this is really unfair to make us carry this burden. We shouldn’t be doing this This is New York City," Trump said.

Trump also criticized the Justice Department and FBI, calling them "dirty players" and "bad people."
"These are dirty players. These are bad people," Trump said. "They cheat and they do anything necessary. These are bad people. And we need an honest Justice Department. We need an honest FBI, and we need it fast."

The FBI has reportedly been looking into whether Adams’ 2021 mayoral campaign conspired with the Turkish government and other entities to raise funds.
According to the indictment, Adams allegedly received $10 million in matching funds from taxpayers under a program that supplements small-dollar donations.
In addition to campaign donations, Adams allegedly received other perks like free flights on Turkish Airlines to destinations in Europe and Asia, free hotel stays and free high-end meals.
Adams has denied any wrongdoing and said he is confident he will be exonerated.
"I am innocent of these charges, and I am confident that I will be found not guilty," Adams said in a statement.
Trump's prediction about Adams' indictment is just the latest example of his uncanny ability to predict the future.
In 2015, Trump predicted that he would win the Republican primary and the general election. He also predicted that the Republican Party would be "so much bigger" under his leadership.
Trump's predictions have been proven correct time and time again. He is a master of reading people and understanding the political landscape.
Trump's prediction about Adams is a warning to other politicians who are considering breaking the law. Trump is watching, and he will not hesitate to call them out.
The Justice Department and FBI need to be held accountable for their misconduct. They are not above the law, and they need to be investigated.
The American people deserve an honest Justice Department and FBI. We need to restore integrity to these institutions.
Trump is right. We need an honest Justice Department and FBI. We need to restore integrity to these institutions.
