Trump and his vice presidential candidate, Senator J.D. Vance, delved into the details of the assassination attempt, which occurred during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump revealed that he was not alerted to the presence of gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks by the U.S. Secret Service prior to taking the stage.

"Mistakes were made," Watters stated, noting that the Secret Service had been monitoring Crooks for an hour before the incident. "No one told you not to take the stage?"

"Nobody mentioned it," Trump replied. "Nobody said it was a problem."
