Former President Donald Trump expressed shock and delight over Kamala Harris' choice of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate, calling it a "shocking pick" that would move the country towards communism.

Former President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on Wednesday against Kamala Harris' decision to tap Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate, labeling it a "shocking pick" that would push the nation towards communism.

In an exclusive interview with "Fox & Friends," Trump expressed disbelief over Walz's selection, describing him as a "very, very liberal man" and a more radical figure than Harris herself.

"I could not be more thrilled," Trump said. "This is a ticket that would want this country to go communist immediately, if not sooner."

According to Trump, Walz's stance on key issues, particularly immigration and crime, is even more extreme than Harris's.

"If you look at his record with no walls, no security, let everybody in. He's worse than they are," Trump asserted. "Nobody knew how radical left she was, but he's a smarter version of her, if you want to know the truth."

Trump also criticized Walz's support for transgender rights, claiming that it was out of step with mainstream American values.

"He's very heavy into transgender. Anything transgender he thinks is great, and he's not where the country is on anything," Trump said.

He further accused the Harris-Walz ticket of being insulting to Jewish people and those who prioritize national security.

"I think it's very insulting to Jewish people," Trump said. "I think it's very insulting to people that want security. I think it was very insulting to anything having to do with making America great again."

According to Trump's recollection, his only interaction with Walz occurred when the governor reached out for assistance during protests at the latter's mansion. Trump claimed that he intervened and ordered Walz's critics to leave.

"I said, ‘What do you want me to do about it?’ I was in the White House," Trump said. "He said, 'If you would put out the word that I'm a good person, and I did, I put out the word I said, 'He's a good person. I hope everything's good.' And everybody put down their flags and took their flags with them."

Trump's comments come as the Harris-Walz ticket faces scrutiny over its ideological positions, which some critics have described as the most far-left in the nation's history.

Harris, a former California senator and prosecutor, has been criticized for her support of progressive policies such as universal healthcare, a $15 minimum wage, and the decriminalization of marijuana.

Walz, a former congressman and National Guard veteran, has implemented policies in Minnesota that include expanding access to affordable healthcare, raising the minimum wage, and legalizing same-sex marriage.

The 2024 presidential election is shaping up to be a highly contentious race, with both Democrats and Republicans seeking to mobilize their bases and attract swing voters. The Harris-Walz ticket's policy positions will likely be a focal point of debate in the months leading up to the election.
