Former President Donald Trump claims that Vice President Kamala Harris is receiving debate prep from Google's lead defense attorney Karen Dunn, who is also involved in the government's antitrust lawsuit against Google.
Former President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on Vice President Kamala Harris, accusing her of a conflict of interest in her debate preparation. Trump and his campaign allege that Karen Dunn, who is assisting Harris in her prep for the upcoming presidential debates, simultaneously serves as Google's lead defense attorney in the ongoing antitrust lawsuit filed by the Biden-Harris administration against the tech giant.
According to the Trump campaign, this arrangement presents a clear conflict of interest as Dunn is simultaneously advising Harris on debate strategies while representing Google in the lawsuit. The trial in the antitrust case is set to begin September 9, just one day before the highly anticipated presidential debate.

"Kamala Harris will never stand up to Big Tech because she's being coached on what to say in the debates by Google's top lawyer," said Trump campaign senior adviser Tim Murtaugh. "Think about how outrageous it is — their administration is suing Google, but Harris is taking political advice from the defendant's lawyer."
Murtaugh further criticized the situation, stating, "any first year law student knows that's a conflict of interest." He alleged that the Biden-Harris administration and Big Tech companies have been colluding to "censor and trample the rights of law-abiding citizens."

The Harris campaign and Dunn have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding these allegations.
The revelations come amid increased scrutiny of Google's conduct following the assassination attempt against former President Trump on July 13. Initially, Google's autocomplete search results did not register the incident, which Google later attributed to a policy prohibiting results for "hypothetical political violence."

Meanwhile, the Harris campaign and the Trump campaign are clashing over debate rules for the September 10 event. The Harris campaign has proposed keeping microphones live throughout the debate, despite the original agreement to mute them unless a candidate is speaking.
The Trump campaign has rejected these changes, accusing the Harris camp of attempting to "get out" of the debate. Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller argued that "the Harris camp, after having already agreed to the CNN rules, asked for a seated debate, with notes, and opening statements. We said no changes to the agreed upon rules."

Miller added that these demands indicate that Harris may not be adequately prepared for the debate and is seeking ways to avoid direct confrontation with Trump.
"They won't allow Harris to do interviews, they won't allow her to do press conferences, and now they want to give her a cheat-sheet for the debate," said Miller. "My guess is that they're looking for a way to get out of any debate with President Trump."

The allegations against Harris and Dunn have further fueled tensions between the two campaigns, setting the stage for a heated and potentially contentious upcoming presidential debate.
