Kevin O'Leary, the investor known as Mr. Wonderful from the TV show "Shark Tank," believes that North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum would be an excellent choice for former President Donald Trump's running mate in the 2024 presidential election.
"Shark Tank" investor Kevin O'Leary has endorsed North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum as his top pick for former President Donald Trump's running mate in the 2024 presidential election.
In an interview on "Fox & Friends Weekend," O'Leary praised Burgum's track record in North Dakota, saying that he has "unbelievable execution skills" and has made the state one of the wealthiest in the country.

"I've been going to North Dakota for years now, and I've seen what he can do with execution skills. His track record is unbelievable in what he's done for the state," O'Leary said.
O'Leary met Burgum after a "Shark Tank" deal brought him to Fargo years ago and said that the governor convinced him to start investing in North Dakota.

"His track record is unbelievable in what he's done for the state," he said. "Very few Americans know that the richest citizens in the country for sovereign wealth are people that live in North Dakota. Doug Burgum did that."
O'Leary suggested that Burgum is the executive whom Trump needs to implement his agenda, to be "the get-it-done guy."

"I don't see that skill set proven in any other candidate. So, I'm unabashedly supporting someone I know in business is a phenomenal leader."
Trump has not yet revealed his choice for running mate, but he has said that he has "sort of a pretty good idea" who it will be. The announcement is expected to be made at the Republican National Convention in August.

Several names have been reported as being on Trump's shortlist, including Burgum, Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, and Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.
O'Leary believes that Burgum is the clear choice for Trump, saying that he is "pro-business, he's pro-growth, he's pro-innovation, he's pro-entrepreneur."
"You would want that in every state. I know this sounds crazy, but if you're a Democrat right now listening to this, you want Doug Burgum as vice president … he's not partisan in any way when it comes to building the American economy up. He works with both sides all the time. That's how you get stuff done."
O'Leary's endorsement of Burgum is a significant boost for the North Dakota governor, who is considered a rising star in the Republican Party. Burgum has been praised for his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, his efforts to promote economic development in North Dakota, and his commitment to conservative values.
If Trump chooses Burgum as his running mate, it would be a major coup for the former president. Burgum is a popular and well-respected figure within the Republican Party, and he would bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the campaign.
