Former President Trump has expressed concerns about the increasing number of illegal immigrants in New York, stating that the state is "overrun" by "very dangerous people." During an interview with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade, Trump asserted that millions of individuals, including those with criminal backgrounds and mental health issues, are entering the country from "jails, prisons, and mental institutions."

Former President Donald Trump has expressed deep concern over the influx of illegal immigrants in New York, warning that the state is "overrun" by "very dangerous people." In an exclusive interview with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade, Trump vowed to "close" the border and deport "all of these criminals" if elected in November.

Trump's remarks come amidst growing concerns about illegal immigration in New York, with nearly 8 million encounters made with illegal aliens at the southern border since the beginning of the Biden administration. The former president linked the issue of illegal immigration to the city's recent increase in crime, stating that street gangs and dangerous individuals are entering the country from various parts of the world.

"Look, I left here and this was a great place," said Trump. "Now it's a place that's overrun by people that shouldn't be in our country, by very dangerous people. Street gangs."

Trump, who originally hails from New York, now resides in Florida but expressed confidence that he could win the state in the upcoming election due to the "migrant crisis." He pointed to the Venezuela-based transnational gang, Tren de Aragua, which has made national headlines after surveillance footage went viral showing armed men in an Aurora, Colorado apartment building.

"You see what's happening in other states," said Trump. "It's not only in New York, but you look at what's going on with the Venezuelans taking over the real estate in Colorado with guns, like even our military doesn't have, guns and rifles."

Trump's vow to "close" the border and deport illegal immigrants aligns with his long-standing stance on immigration. During his presidency, he implemented a number of policies aimed at reducing illegal crossings, including the construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Trump campaign did not immediately return Fox News Digital's request for comment on the former president's remarks. However, his comments are likely to resonate with his supporters, who have consistently expressed concerns about illegal immigration and cross-border crime.

According to the New York State Board of Elections, Trump received 37.8% of the vote in the state in 2020, a significant improvement over his performance in 2016. With the November election approaching, it remains to be seen whether Trump's focus on illegal immigration and law enforcement will be sufficient to win over New York voters and flip the state from blue to red.
