Following the former president's conviction in a criminal trial, the Republican National Committee (RNC) has seen a dramatic increase in fundraising, raising a staggering $141 million in May. This surge is further fueled by the formation of new super PACs supporting Trump's 2024 bid.
Make America Great Again Inc. (MAGA Inc.), a prominent super PAC backing former President Trump's 2024 White House run, has announced a remarkable fundraising haul of nearly $70 million in May. The group pledged to invest $100 million in an extensive advertising campaign this summer to bolster support for Trump in crucial battleground states.
This announcement comes on the heels of an impressive fundraising report from the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC). In May alone, they raised a combined $141 million, with a substantial portion attributed to the former president's guilty verdicts in a criminal trial.
"The fundamental political realities driving voter motivation remain unchanged," said MAGA Inc. CEO Taylor Budowich in a memo to donors. Despite Biden's attempt to secure a conviction, Budowich maintains that Trump's support remains resilient.
MAGA Inc.'s fundraising spree is significantly higher than its April haul of $12.7 million. The Trump campaign's fundraising advantage over Biden's campaign, initially achieved in April, has been sustained.
The memo highlights MAGA Inc.'s strategy to secure the 270 electoral votes needed for Trump's victory. It emphasizes the importance of capturing Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, while retaining support in Georgia, Arizona, North Carolina, and Nevada.
Budowich underscores the Biden campaign's substantial spending on television advertising to date, which has failed to yield significant gains. He suggests that MAGA Inc.'s almost equal spending in Pennsylvania, the key swing state, could sway the election outcome in Trump's favor.
Georgia is also noted as a crucial gateway to the White House for Trump. The state's electoral votes could potentially secure his victory.
Trump's endorsement of MAGA Inc. does not deter the presence of other super PACs supporting his presidential bid. The Right for America super PAC, headed by Trump ally Sergio Gor, and Preserve America, backed by GOP megadonor Miriam Adelson, are additional players in this fundraising landscape.
As the 2024 election approaches, Trump's fundraising prowess and the support of influential super PACs will play a significant role in shaping the campaign and determining his chances of regaining the presidency.
