Tyrekennel Collins, 24, and Dezarrious Johnson, 18, were taken into custody Saturday inside an abandoned home in Claiborne County after escaping from jail the previous day.
Tyrekennel Collins, 24, and Dezarrious Johnson, 18, escaped from the Claiborne County Detention Center on Friday, July 7, by crawling through the ceiling and climbing over an outside wall. The two inmates were awaiting trial for murder in separate counties.
Authorities immediately launched a manhunt for the escaped inmates, warning the public that they were considered dangerous. During the search, it was revealed that Johnson had injured his right leg during the escape and was walking with a limp.

On Saturday, Collins and Johnson were located inside an abandoned home in Claiborne County. They were taken into custody without incident.
Collins faces charges of murder and escape, while Johnson faces charges of murder, aggravated assault, and escape.

Two Escaped Mississippi Inmates Recaptured After Manhunt
The Claiborne County Sheriff's Office is investigating how the inmates managed to escape from the jail. Sheriff Edward Goods said that surveillance footage shows the two men escaping around 2:20 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing, and the sheriff has vowed to identify any weaknesses in the jail's security system and take steps to prevent future escapes.
