Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill has officially challenged Olympic sprinter Noah Lyles to a 50-yard dash, offering a contract for the race to take place. Lyles initially dismissed Hill's challenge, but has now hinted that he would consider it if the proper arrangements are made.
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and U.S. Olympic sprinter Noah Lyles have ignited a social media rivalry that has culminated in an official race challenge. Hill, known for his blistering speed on the gridiron, has repeatedly expressed his desire to face off against Lyles, the reigning Olympic gold medalist in the 100-meter dash.
On Sunday, Hill posted a video on social media in which former NFL stars Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson urged Lyles to "sign the contract and lock in that 50-yard race." Hill, who has been vocal about his belief that he could beat Lyles in a race, recently posted a mocking video of Lyles during an interview.

Initially, Lyles dismissed Hill's challenge, stating that Hill was merely "chasing clout." He pointed to Hill's participation in a 60-meter race at a masters track meet, claiming that Hill was "dodging smoke." Lyles also mentioned Seattle Seahawks receiver D.K. Metcalf, who participated in the 100-meter dash at the USA Track & Field Golden Games three years ago.
However, Lyles hinted that he would consider a race with Hill if the proper channels were followed. "If he's serious about it – if he's truly serious about it and I'm not talking about you just talking on the internet and you not actually coming to me and talking to my agent and saying, ‘Let's set something up.’ If you are serious about it, you'll see me on the track," Lyles said.

Hill's confidence stems from his impressive 100-meter time of 10.19 in high school. Lyles, on the other hand, recently won the Olympic gold medal in the 100-meter dash with a time of 9.79.
The beef between Hill and Lyles originated from Hill's comments on the "Up and Adams" show, where he criticized Lyles for his performance in the Paris Olympics, suggesting that Lyles's claim of being ill was a "horseradish." Hill also took a dig at Lyles's status as the "Fastest Man in the World," questioning his legitimacy as a world champion.

Hill's subsequent social media posts further stoked the rivalry, with the Dolphin star expressing his belief that he could beat Lyles in a race. He even went so far as to say that he would wear a COVID mask after defeating Lyles to "let him know [he] means business."
The potential clash between Hill and Lyles has generated significant excitement among sports fans. Both athletes are renowned for their incredible speed and athleticism, making the prospect of a showdown highly intriguing. Whether or not Lyles accepts Hill's challenge remains to be seen, but the rivalry between the two sprinters has undoubtedly captured the attention of the sporting world.
