Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters such as Conor McGregor, Michael Chandler, and Dana White expressed their shock and support for former President Donald Trump following an attempted assassination at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
UFC star Conor McGregor took to social media to voice his admiration for Trump's unwavering spirit in the face of adversity. In a post on X, McGregor acknowledged that Trump, a wealthy businessman, could choose a life of leisure but instead remains committed to serving his country. "He is in Pennsylvania spitting out bullets! Running for the love of his country!" McGregor wrote, wishing Trump well and declaring his support for the United States.

Michael Chandler, who was scheduled to fight McGregor at UFC 303, shared McGregor's sentiments. Responding to McGregor's post, Chandler stated, "We stand united on this one..." He shared images from the campaign rally shooting, showcasing Trump's resilience and unwavering determination.
UFC President Dana White, who is rumored to speak at the Republican National Convention, took to Instagram to express his outrage and support for Trump. "I am absolutely SICK to my stomach and in complete shock," White wrote, calling Trump "the toughest, most resilient, AMERICAN BAD A-- on this planet." He praised Trump's willingness to stand up for his beliefs and expressed his eagerness to introduce him at the Republican National Convention.

Evan Elder, a UFC fighter, extended his thoughts and prayers to Trump after a fight in Denver. "I'm glad that man is OK – long live Trump," he proclaimed, eliciting applause from the audience.
A federal investigation was promptly launched into the shooting, which was carried out by Thomas Matthew Crooks. Numerous sports figures, including McGregor, Chandler, White, and Elder, condemned the violence and expressed their support for Trump.
