Former CIA Station Chief Dan Hoffman emphasizes the crucial role of long-range weapons in Ukraine's ability to defeat Russia.

Former CIA Station Chief and Fox News contributor Dan Hoffman believes that providing Ukraine with long-range weapons is a game-changer in the ongoing conflict with Russia. In an interview with 'Fox News Live,' Hoffman asserted that Russian President Vladimir Putin must be astonished by Ukraine's resilience in defending its territory.

According to Hoffman, the Western nations must prioritize supplying Ukraine with advanced weaponry, including long-range missiles and artillery systems. These weapons would enable Ukraine to strike targets deep within Russian territory, disrupt supply lines, and weaken Putin's military capabilities.

Hoffman emphasized that the provision of long-range weapons would not escalate the conflict into a nuclear war, as some have speculated. He argued that Russia would be extremely reluctant to use nuclear weapons, given the devastating consequences that would ensue.

Hoffman's views are echoed by other experts in the field, including former DIA intelligence officer Rebekah Koffler. Koffler told Fox News Digital that a tactical nuclear strike by Russia could be justified under its doctrine, considering the violation of its sovereignty by Ukraine. However, she believes such a strike is highly unlikely at this stage.

Meanwhile, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has raised concerns about the use of nuclear weapons, claiming that Ukraine's incursion into Russia is an attempt to provoke Moscow into using tactical nuclear weapons. Lukashenko believes that such a move would have disastrous consequences for Russia's international standing and could lead to a loss of support from its allies.

Despite Lukashenko's claims, Ukraine has not launched any significant offensive into Russian territory. However, it has been targeting Russian military infrastructure and supply lines within its own borders, employing long-range artillery and missile systems.

Lukashenko has also warned that Belarus will use nuclear weapons if Ukraine crosses the border of the Union State, a supranational union between Belarus and Russia. However, Minsk has yet to send troops into Ukraine, although it has allowed Russian forces to deploy into Ukraine from its territory.

Experts believe that Lukashenko's comments regarding nuclear weapons are primarily intended to exert psychological pressure on Ukraine and create uncertainty about Russia's next move. The exact number of Belarusian troops at the border remains unclear, but estimates suggest it could be around 20,000.

Ukrainian border officials have dismissed Lukashenko's claims, stating that the situation at the Ukraine-Belarus border remains unchanged and they have not observed any significant troop movements.
